Gnome Costume Guide

Before attending Fayhaven, all garb, armor, weapons, and gear must be staff-approved. This can be done by sending in pictures via email (contact@fayhavenlarp.com). Pictures can be of the whole kit or of individual items. We encourage players to submit their plans for homemade or commissioned items before investing in them, to be sure that they match the garb requirements.

Aesthetic Influences

Gnome clothing reflects the beauty of nature while also meeting the practical needs of their lifestyle. Loose-fitting or flexible pieces that allow a free range of movement are preferred, permitting them to move through the wilderness with ease. Gnomes also generally wear colors that allow them to blend into their surroundings, preferring greens, tans, and browns, and any other colors that might be found in the forests they call their homes. Camouflage-based ornamentation is common, such as mantles, hats, or headpieces that are decorated with leaves, pinecones, moss, or other found items that can aid in their ability to blend into their surroundings. Roughspun fabrics and textured pieces are emblematic of their rough-and-tumble lifestyle. The innate whimsy of Gnomes can be seen in their sporting of large, pointed hats and pointy shoes.
